The iconic Kinetic DX is all set to make a grand comeback, but this time not with a petrol engine, rather in a modern electric avatar. Kinetic Green is a subsidiary of the Kinetic Group, and it has recently filed the design patent for its new scooter.
The patent clearly shows that this upcoming scooter will resemble the classic Kinetic Honda DX that many people remember fondly. Kinetic Green has confirmed that this all-new electric scooter will be launched on July 28, 2025.
Kinetic DX Revival

If you recall, the production of the original Kinetic DX took place between 1984 and 2007 under a partnership between India’s Kinetic Engineering and Japan’s Honda Motors. The scooter was based on Honda’s NH Series and used a 98cc two-stroke, air-cooled engine. However, this time around, it will return as a fully electric scooter powered by a modern electric motor.
After the partnership with Honda ended, Kinetic struggled significantly in the market, though it had previously held a prominent position. Now, it seems the company wants to target its user base again, and to achieve this, it is launching an electric version of its most iconic scooter.

What’s New in the Kinetic DX?
The design patent filed by Kinetic Green shows a design that stays true to the original Kinetic Honda DX styling. The major difference is the presence of a new ‘Kinetic Green’ logo on the front apron.

The scooter will also get a brand-new LED headlight along with fresh LED DRLs for a modern touch. Interestingly, the iconic red-coloured ‘ready start’ button is also making a comeback, adding to the retro feel.
The side panels are also designed to maintain the classic appeal of the original DX. At the rear, instead of the traditional spare tyre, there will be a new grab rail. In terms of branding, the scooter will feature the ‘Kinetic’ logo across various parts like the flyscreen, replacing the older ‘Kinetic Honda’ name.
So far, the company has not revealed any technical specifications regarding the power, battery range, or features of the scooter. However, expectations are high that the new Kinetic DX will be a practical and performance-friendly family scooter with a decent range.
On its social media handles, Kinetic has been posting nostalgic stories about the old Kinetic Honda scooter, building excitement among fans.
Who Will It Compete With?

The Kinetic DX will compete in the electric scooter market with well-established family scooters like Bajaj Chetak, Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, and Ola S1 X. It will be interesting to see whether Kinetic relies solely on nostalgia or comes up with exciting new features to make a strong comeback in the EV space.
Overall, the Kinetic DX seems to be a nostalgic blend of retro design and modern electric performance. Let’s see if it wins the hearts of Indian families once again!
