Hero launched its latest electric scooter, the Vida VX2, on July 1 this month. The Vida VX2 was introduced in two variants, with the base variant, Vida VX2 Go, launched under the BaaS model at a price of just ₹60,000. But surprisingly, within just two weeks of its launch, the company has announced a bumper discount of ₹15,000 on it.
As per the new pricing, all variants of the Vida VX2, including the BaaS variants, have received a price cut of ₹15,000 just days after the launch.
Model | Launch Price | Discounted Price |
---|---|---|
Vida VX2 Go BaaS | ₹60,000 | ₹45,000 |
Vida VX2 Plus BaaS | ₹65,000 | ₹58,000 |
Vida VX2 Go | ₹99,500 | ₹85,000 |
Vida VX2 Plus | ₹1.10 lakh | ₹1 lakh |
However, the company has not yet clarified how long this offer will last. It is believed that the offer will continue until demand picks up properly.
What’s Hero Up To?

With aggressive marketing for the Hero Vida VX2, the company wants to create a major impact in the electric segment, aiming to shift traditional fuel-dependent users towards EVs. The goal is to bring as many people as possible to the EV side, and with this aggressive pricing, the company plans to make a significant leap in market share.
Launching the base variant of the Vida VX2 at ₹60,000 and then reducing the price by another ₹15,000 clearly signals that the company is very serious about its EV game and is openly experimenting in the market.
Launched with Battery As A Service (BaaS)

To make EVs accessible to more people, the company launched this scooter under the BaaS model. It is a battery subscription-based plan where the user can subscribe to the battery as a service, which reduces the total cost by 30 to 40 percent.
You can understand how successful the BaaS model has been from the three points given below:
- After the VX2 Go’s price dropped to ₹44,990, it has become one of the top 5 cheapest EV scooters sold in India, but none of the others offer a model like BaaS.
- The price of the Vida VX2 Go is now even lower than the petrol scooter Hero HF100 (₹59,018) – which means it’s time to move on from petrol!
- Before the price drop, 70% of the bookings for the Vida VX2 Go were for the BaaS model, showing that people are preferring the subscription-based model more.
The Vida VX2 is the first scooter in the country to be launched with this service. Because of this service, the per kilometer cost has come down to just ₹0.96. The biggest advantage of this service is that you only have to pay for how much you ride the scooter – there’s no need to pay upfront for the full battery.
Now, what’s the difference between the Go and Plus variants?

The biggest difference between the two variant of Vida VX2 lies in the battery pack, which affects the range, top speed and other related specs. The base variant VX2 Go gets a 2.2 kWh battery capacity which results in 92 kilometers of range, and a top speed of 70 kmph, while the VX2 Plus gets a 3.4 kWh battery, 142 kilometers of range, and a top speed of 80 kmph.
